Heading into its sixth year, Australia's own national Adventure Racing series returns in 2022 with another 4 exciting and challenging races, from the fast-paced 30hr events through to the epic 100hr rogaine-style expedition race.
The 2022 series kicks off in Mar in Victoria with Explore Gippsland. Hosted by Australia's current top adventure racer Rob Preston, this course has been over a year in the planning and will sure to be a tough navigational challenge that pushes teams across an amazing wilderness course.
In May, the A1 series heads north to the Clarence Valley, NSW for the RAID 100. The unique 24-hour rogaine course format has been challenging Australia's elite teams for over a decade now, however, the race still remains accessible to all levels of athletes as the teams select how much of the course they want to take on. The Rogue Raid heads Bayside near Brisbane to explore the islands, waterways, and local bushland for a strategic mission that is sure to sell out early as it always does.
In October, the A1 series remains in NSW with Wildside Adventure Race, a 48hr race that will be sure to test your skills whilst soaking in the stunning north coast scenery.
Finally, the 2022 A1 series will wrap up with the return of Alpine Quest. Hosted from the adventure playground of Omeo, Victoria, Alpine Quest is another 48-hour race where all will be decided. Alpine Quest organisers Adventure Junkies are known for the high quality of courses they pull together, so be ready for this one.
Once again, not only is a ranking within Australia's national series on the line but the coveted ticket of a GODZone Adventure entry for our future national champions. Being the biggest and best expedition race on the planet, GODZone never disappoints so start your training..
Same rules apply... Best 3 of 4 races count and you can use up to 7 team members across your chosen races for the season so you can share the load!
The A1 series of races are organised by a collective of racers who actively compete themselves. They know what they like in a race and put their heart into developing courses that they would want to race.
