As you may be aware, Adventure 1 is sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO) as an international adventure race series coordinator. FISO is a member based, democratic, not-for-profit organization that exists to represent the needs of its members (the athletes, national federations and their communities), and meet requirements specified by the International Olympic Committee to be recognized as an international sport.
An important part for establishing a governing process for adventure racing is a meeting to discuss and codify an international governing body. This founding assembly meeting will be held virtually on Saturday 18 February. We encourage all adventure racing athletes, race directors and other stakeholders to attend the meeting as an opportunity to learn more about the governance of the sport we all love and to have a voice in the process.
